Peach in the US

Peaches are usually started from a pit, you know, the stone from the fruit. You'll need to stratify them first, which means giving them a cold, moist period to wake them up, often in the fridge for a few months before you even think about planting. Once they've had their chill, sow the pit about 1 inch (2.5 cm) deep in a good quality potting mix, either indoors or directly outside after your last frost, depending on your USDA zone. Remember, timing varies quite a bit by zone, so check the app for specific guidance for zones 3 through 10. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Germination can be a bit slow and unpredictable, to be honest.

Once your little peach seedling pops up, give it plenty of light to get strong. If you started them indoors, you'll need to harden them off gradually before planting them out permanently. This means taking them outside for longer and longer periods over a week or two. Choose a spot with full sun and well-draining soil, like I say. Space them properly, allowing at least 15 to 20 feet (4.5 to 6 meters) between trees, or even more for larger varieties. Young trees will need some sturdy support, like a good stake, especially in windy spots. These aren't really for containers, to be frank.
